Four days without Internet and I feel like I'm out of the loop...especially at LiveSide

Soooo I had a lot of reading and catching up to do. Thanks to Chris, Kip, Don, Harrison and the rest of the crew for having the LiveSide RSS feed, makes life easier for me.

Anyhoo...

Came across this article... Live Messenger For Windows Mobile 5

Quick summary for the people who don't like to read [can't imagine why that would be]

The Windows Live Mobile Team has created a browser-based version of messenger, much like WebMessenger, E-Messenger just to name a few.

This new application is specially designed for cellphones using Windows Mobile 5.0 as it's OS such as QTek or HP [my personal favorites]

I used to wonder why anyone would want Windows in their pocket but after using the phones, you see some good in them [especially the WiFi connection]

I tested the site out on Betsy, it's extremely simple and it isn't limited to cellphones only however I would not suggest it for regular computers.

The design has been simplified to its simplest [how many times can I used a form of simple in one sentence?] to make it easier for the cellphones. Although the phones use Windows they aren't packing 512 in the RAM department.

Although it says its based for WM 5, I'm itching to test it on cellphones with varying OS's...just to see what will happen.

I came across this link which is pretty usefull, gonna add it to the Interesting Spots list.

It's another one of the Live Toys..oh boy do I love Windows Live.

This one is called the Windows Live WiFi HotSpot Locator [still a Beta version]

Its a mouthful of words, but the software behind it is pretty simple.

You go to the link, and just tell it where you are [or will be] and it gives you a lit of WiFi hotspots in the area.

It's quite handy for people with laptops who are venturing into uncharted waters.

Although the Live projects are constantly being criticized, I love 'em. Even when in Beta...I Love 'Em
